The System Tools virus is quite known. It applies to your computer on some dangerous sites, where you download movies or clips.
It changes your desktopbackground to a blue color with white 0's and 1's. Text is also on that background, I don't remember what it is exactly, but in short it says: 'buy this virusscanner to remove this virus'.
BUT, the virusscanner IS the virus. It scans your computer for virusses and trojan's and it also gives you little messages that some files of your current virusscanner are infected.
After the virusscanner is scannen virusses, it ends up with around 30-40 infected files and it asks you if you want to delete the files. If you say 'no', it says that you will keep your computer unsecured. If you say 'yes', it opens a screen that fills up your whole computer that says 'buy this virusscanner to delete the files' and you have to fill in information, names, adress, phonenumber, zipcode etc.
DON'T BUY IT! IT'S FAKE!! The virusscanner IS the virus.
Luckily the virus doesn't delete any of your files, games, applications or whatever.
The most irritating thing about the virus is, that you can't open files, install files and even delete files.
Of my own experience i tried everything to stop the virus. I tried to restart the computer, I tried Ctrl+Alt+Del, but it gave me a black screen, I tried to delete all the infected files by myself manually, but I needed permission of the virus to delete files.
I searched on the internet for solutions but all were the same and not completely instructed. I needed to download files, so i tried, I was enable to download the file, but I couldn't install it.
How can you solve this problem? I luckily got the solution quite fast. This is what you have to do.
1. Go to the internet and download a program that is called Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Files will be edited in here soon.
2. Restart the computer and press F8 (most of you know when to press it) and start the savemode with internetoptions.
3. install the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware program (be sure that after install the two options at the end are enabled.
4. Start Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and go to options and enable the first options, that will automaticly close internet when you start any scans.
5. Start a full scan, be sure you scan ALL of your disks, even when you're sure a disk is clean. After the scan, there pops-up a message that says that it has found infected files, press ok and go to 'look at rapports'.
6. Be sure you select all files and press the 'delete all' button.
7. Restart your computer in normal mode. Wait two minutes after you logged in and see what happens. If the desktopbackground stays normal, then the virus should be gone. Congratulations, you just fixed your computer manually.
Additional:
8. If within the two minutes the desktopbackground changes back to the blue screen with weird sentences, then the virus isn't deleted yet. Restart your computer and go to savemode again.
9. Start Malwarebytes Anti-Malware again and run a fast scan, it will take around 5 minutes of your time.
10. Do the same as step 6, press the 'delete all' button.
11. Restart your computer in normal mode. Wait another 2 minutes. Now the virus should be deleted.
Congratulations you fixed your computer manually.
Comment below if you've still got the virus after following the instructions but it went wrong.
And comment to thank of course when it went succesfully.
